2008 Girls Only Incentive Program Recipients Announced

ProMOTION Plus and the BCRPA are pleased to announce that the following organizations have been selected to receive funds of up to $2,500 through the Girls Only Incentive Program:
 
  Margaret and Helen Callaghan inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame 
It has been a banner year for female athletes at the BC Sports Hall of Fame, with 4 out of the 11 individual inductees and 1 team being women.
  
ProMOTION Plus Victoria “Play it Forward” and “Proud to Play Like a Girl” Recipients Announced   
ProMOTION Plus– Greater Victoria awarded 4 “Proud to Play Like a Girl” grants to Cara Marks, Jaymie Tucker, Michelle Quigg and Rebecca Hayman. Congratulations girls!
 
Women in Leadership Workshop Series
Two new workshops now available: Effective Networking and Creating Work/Life Balance as well as the original 3: Conflict Resolution, Effective Communication and Influencing Change.

Marni Abbott (Wheelchair basketball athlete and coach) and the 2004 Whitecaps women's soccer team are 2 of the 9 inductees into the BC Sports Hall of Fame for 2007.

Success Stories: Increasing Opportunities for Girls and Women in National and Multi-Sport Organizations
Success Stories provides a sampling of the many programs, projects and strategies that have been successful in encouraging opportunities for girls and women in sport. Many organizations have recognized that it takes specific actions and direction at all levels within sport to create environments which are more open and equitable to everyone.
