Background on the Program: In 2006, in partnership with BC Games Society and it’s 2006 Summer Games partners in Kamloops, ProMOTION Plus and Coaches Association of BC gave an introduction to the proposed “Coaching Mentor/ Apprenticeship Program For Female Apprentices”. The goal at that time was to promote the program and get feedback from the Kamloops coaches and participants to aid in the development of the program.
The Coaching Mentor/ Apprenticeship program officially started in 2007 when the first mentor/apprentice pairs began working together in preparation for the BC Winter & Summer Games in 2008. |
