The Girls Only Incentive Program

The Girls Only Incentive Program is a partnership between ProMOTION Plus and the BC Recreation and Parks Association and is supported by 2010 Legacies Now and the Federal Government. Its goal is to facilitate the development of new sport programs that are tailored specifically to the needs of girls and women in communities across BC. The project provides workshops and seed funding to BC communities to aid in the implementation of girls only programming. Its purpose is...

  • To assist non-active girls in the development of a sense of body awareness and of their own physical capabilities.
  • To provide non-active girls with a broader range of choices and opportunities in physical activity so that they are able to experience the many positive benefits of good physical activity including increased self-esteem, increased confidence, a sense of belonging to a group and exposure to strong and nurturing relationships with other girls.
  • To bring about systemic change in the way sport and recreation programs are made available to girls and women.

Note: The deadline for 2008.09 applications has now passed. For more information on the Girls Only Incentive program or how to apply for next year, please contact the office.
