New Funding for Potential Female Coaches The Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) is pleased to announce a new funding source for professional development for female student-athletes who are currently in their last year of their CCAA playing careers. The Female Student Athlete Coaching Profession Development Program is an extension of the successful Female Apprentice Coach Program aimed at targeting the rich source of potential female coaches in the ranks of graduating student-athletes and creating a new coaching position, the apprentice coach, to begin the coaching careers of the successful applicants.
This new program is aimed at female student-athletes who wish to engage in coaching professional development opportunity; grants of up to $250 are available during their final year of play.

Bob Bearpark Coaching Fund Equity and Access Bursaries
The Bearpark Foundation was established in 1997 to support coaching education in British Columbia as an ongoing memorial legacy to Bob Bearpark. As a former Canadian National Soccer Coach and Director of BC Sport Services at the time of his death, Bob was devoted to the ongoing professional development of coaches in this country. He is remembered for his dedication to sport from the grassroots to elite levels and for his career in physical education, coaching and sport administration.
Consistent with Bob Bearpark's philosophy of equity and access and in partnership with the CABC, the Foundation has special bursaries to support coaching education for three categories of coaches: Aboriginal Coaches, Women Coaches and Coaches with a Disability. The Women in Coaching (WiC) program of the Coaching Association of Canada held its annual National Coach Workshop, March 30 – April 1, 2007 at the Briars Resort, Jackson's Point, Ont. WiC consultant Sheilagh Croxon led the group through this year's program which included a workshop tailored to the coaches, a strategic think tank for the sport leaders, a leadership workshop, an interactive marketing session, and a session on political advocacy.
