2003 Bobbie Steen Award of Excellence Recipient
Congratulations to Jacqueline Ferraby, a very deserving recipient of the Bobbie Steen Award of Excellence!
Jacqueline is a dynamic and caring leader who has proven to be an outstanding role model to young women in a number of different ways. Her commitment and desire to excel has led her to many great accomplishments in the world of soccer, as well as in academics, and service to others. In the past few years, Jacqueline’s efforts on and off the soccer field have been well recognized, as she has been a Canada West All-Star for three consecutive years, and a recent Royal Bank Academic All-Canadian.
“Jacqueline is known for bringing energy to the UBC soccer environment, and is a role model for newcomers to the team,” explains UBC soccer coach Richard Mosher who has coached Jacqueline for three years. He adds “it is Jacqui’s willingness to get involved in programs outside her main interest of soccer, that sets her apart from other young leaders.” Jacqui has coordinated workshops and student volunteers for handicapped and underprivileged inner-city residents, and has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in setting up and participating in the ‘T-Birds in Schools,’ and ‘Bridge Thru Sport’ programs. Her work with the First United Church Mission has touched many lives.
Congratulations to Jacqueline Ferraby, a very deserving recipient of the Bobbie Steen Award of Excellence!
